So what's new? I was ashamed to see that I haven't written to my blog in such a really long time. That's the problem when I don't make out a certain time to write every day, even if it is only 1 or 2 lines. I started a blog documenting my weight loss, but gave that up quickly for the same reason. The only blog that I send any posts to at the moment is the Americans in Ulm, as there I don't really write anything, I just forward anything that pops up. I also apologise to anyone on my Yahoo lists, which I have also neglected. During work, I don't have much time to chat, and don't want to feel bad about brushing off anyone, and on the weekend, I usually don't have my laptop on that much, so I don't chat then either. Please accept my apologise if you feel spoken to.

On the other hand, I started actively loosing weight! I started doing more fitness, a couple of colleagues and I have decided to run a ½ marathon in September, so I decided to loose at least 15 20 kilos. I started at the beginning of January with 111,8 kg, and have brought it down to 105kg, and  continuing. I have all but stopped eating dinner. After 5 o'clock in the evening, I don't eat anything, I just drink allot of tea and water. Only on Sundays or if we go out, or business dinners, then I eat. Sundays I usually eat with the family so that we can sit together. That is also the day when either my wife or I cook something "special", so it would be a shame not to enjoy it. It was actually easier than I thought. The hardest thing, was to force myself to have some sort of breakfast. At 7:00 in the morning, I really don't have much appetite. But I started making either a banana/soy-milk shake, or congee, or a fairly fluid sort of oatmeal. Something that I don't have to chew too much. Lunch is fairly normal, whereas I naturally try to stay away from huge meals, or fatty foods, but ever now and then, a "Currywurst" and fries just has to be a part of my diet. In the evenings I drink allot of lapacho tea and mineral water. I have found out it is easier not to eat anything at all, than to sit in front of food and just eat a little bit.

My other big thing, is that I have started seriously painting and sketching in charcoal. I spoke with another American living in Ulm, an artist, who suggested that I just do it, just try it, and since I had done some simple things in the past, I did, and it is really fun.

We will see how far I can bring this.

Well 'nuff said for now,
